Archangel Svitla International Charitable Foundation<\/strong> to the 204th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding kobzar of Ukraine T.G. Shevchenko vtook part in the treatment and restoration of a centuries-old historical tree - "Budyschansky Dub Shevchenko 1"<\/strong>, which grows in the apple orchard of the Shevchenko College in the village of Home of Zvenigorod district of Cherkasy region. The place is known for the fact that here in the 19th century. the estate of P.V. was located Engelhardt, with whom T.G. served in his youth. Shevchenko. Two oaks are still preserved (Shevchenko Budyshchansky Oak 1 and Shevchenko Budyshchansky Oak 2. According to legend, Taras hid his drawings in the hollow of one of them.<\/div>\n
The age of the oaks reaches more than 900 years, the girth of the trunks is 7.5-8.5 m. In 2010, Taras Shevchenko's Oaks became the prize-winners of the All-Ukrainian competition "National Tree of Ukraine", taking 2nd place in the "Memorial Tree of Ukraine" nomination.<\/div>\n
